ACTUNG! ACTUNG!
Ahhh yes. I am the proud parent of a new safety patrol. I don’t think nearly as proud as my son is to be one! The basic criteria is to be in 5th grade, recommendations from previous years teachers, honor roll (ahem…every semester of every year…thank you) and basically a good kid/not a trouble maker.
Doug is as bad as me posing for pictures. It’s a lot like trying to get a cat into a travel case when the cat knows the trip is to the vet. I asked him if he is allowed to yell “HALT!” or “PAPERS PLEASE!” He doesn’t get the humor but my god…the irony of this whole thing for me is pretty amazing! I was such a horrible student and constantly in so much trouble that basically from 3rd grade through high school my parents were exchanging b-day cards with the schools disciplinarians!
