Car # 17 - 1998 red Dodge Durango
I loved my Mitsubishi Eclipse however I had a few close calls with speeding but more importantly we found out we were expecting our first baby and I felt it was best to get a vehicle that was more family oriented. I had seen the Dodge Durango and really liked the looks of it and when I checked it out I felt that the size was perfect; not being overbearingly huge like other SUV’s. I traded in the Eclipse for the Durango and also traded hulling arse on the highways to doing some serious off-roading.
What I put the Durango through is a testament to its durability and solid build. One time a bunch of us were camping in north Florida. After a decent amount of Crown & Ginger me and 5 other passengers decided to do some 4 wheeling. We were jumping dunes, using cows in a dirt field slalom course and drove the Durango into a mud pit that was at least 100 feet long and 3 feet deep. No problem…the Durango easily made it through. We were all very impressed…and happy none of us had to get out in that mad and push. We celebrated with more Crown & Ginger followed up with firing semi-auto’s at targets. Yee-ha!!!
