Car #7 - 1989 red Jeep Wrangler
This was what I would like to call another one of my “Spontaneous Drive-by Purchases” but I never regretted by it. I love Jeeps and I loved this one. Mine was red with a tan top like this one but I had a soft top. It didn’t have a/c but since I was living in Michigan it didn’t really matter. Except for the extreme winter months of December, January and February I would basically drive with the top off. Everyone and their mother wanted to be picked up and driven around in it…which was fun but could be a pain. People also wanted to “trade” their vehicle for a day and sometimes I would oblige. However, this did not always turn out well. My sister had an Acura but she wanted to borrow my Jeep to go to the beach with her boyfriend. The Jeep returned fine but I got in an accident in her car and smashed the front end up pretty badly.
I also got into a few fender benders with this Jeep but the front bumpers they put on these were really tough and I never sustained hardly any damage. I had this Jeep for my first few years of college which was a ton of fun…everyone wants to be driven around in a red convertable. I never had a shortage of people asking to just drive around or even to car-pool when going to class, out for the night or to the beach/bars/wherever.
I would love to own a new 4 door Jeep!
